At Penumbra Blue Studios Photography, I am passionate about capturing the beauty, the fun and the unconditional love shared between all family members that I photograph. I've been making art all my life and have been photographing almost as long. I'm committed to providing you with the very best experience and the highest quality photographic artwork.
Your Pet Images Are Important!
My kitten was five weeks old and fit into the palm of my hand. I called her Jumpy -- guess why! She was my tiniest family member. The only photo of her spunky kittenhood is the old faded one from Craigslist where I found her. Now she's gone and I like to imagine a huge print of that tiny fur ball above my couch to make me smile every time I see it and remember her. I do have one of her in adulthood right in there with my other beloved family members.
It keeps her alive in my heart.
YOUR SESSION
Together we will choose a location that will show your pet in her best light. We will have a lot of fun running, hugging, laughing and relaxing. We will explore fun poses and spontaneous candids, while capturing your beautiful authentic selves! I guide you all the way so no worries about what to do.
WHAT'S NEXT?
A few weeks after your session, we’ll get together again at your home to watch your images come alive in a slideshow / movie onscreen. During this process I help you choose your favorite images, decide on wall art or custom album and finalize your order. Once printed, I will personally deliver your finished art to your home. Plus, all the images you purchase come with web-ready digitals!
Why Penumbra Blue?
I don't have a middle name (dad had too many!). So back in high school my friends helped me choose one by pointing with eyes closed on a random page in a giant dictionary. There it was: Penumbra, the secondary shadow at the edge of the shadow (umbra) of the moon. Or, as I prefer, the shadow of the shadow of the moon. And "Blue"? It's a great color, especially the dark, mysterious midnight blue, like the penumbra.

I am a boutique photographer specializing in pets and their families. I create photographic artwork to decorate your home intended to be passed from generation to generation. I hold your hand through a full boutique experience; from a personalized consultation where we
discuss clothing, styling, and art placement on the walls of your home;
to an ordering presentation where we help you select the best images specifically for you. I am not the photographer who hands over
digital files and sends my clients home to figure out what to do with them.
